In a coup of sorts (and a further proof of ‘Khan bonding’ post the Rai-Bachchan ‘very private’ wedding), Bollywood’s King Khan—Shah Rukh, has roped in 30 of the country’s hottest stars for a special song in his home production ‘Om Shanti Om’.

Choreographed by the film’s director Farah Khan, this historical party song will have 15 male and 15 female stars, including Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Govinda, Mithun, Rekha, Shabana Azmi, Vidya Balan, Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta, Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Tabu, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora.

What’s also interesting is the fact that well-known fashion designer and stylist Manish Malhotra has designed clothes for all the women, except Preity. Manish obviously is very thrilled with the experience.

He says, “This song will definitely create history. Imagine getting Saif, Sanjay, Salman and SRK in one frame! It’s a party scene and I have dressed each of these actresses differently, glamorous nevertheless. Like I have dressed Vidya Balan in a black dress and she looks nothing like her usual self, while Urmila has been given this no jewellery glam look”

However, Manish is more excited about the casting coup. “Last time we had a few stars coming together was for a song in ‘Naseeb’. But that is not even quarter of what you will see in this song. This kind of song can happen only perhaps once in 20 years. I truly feel fulfilled in my career after this song, which I’m sure will be remembered for many decades to come,” he says.

Manish says one of the highs for him was when Rekha came to his boutique to pick up a saree for the shoot. He says, “I had last designed for Rekhaji in ‘Bhoot’. For this song, she came to my store and picked up a gold chantilly saree in which she looked fabulous. I was thrilled to design for Shabanaji too.”
