It’s official. Salman Khan is going to be a part of the internationally renowned Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, in London. He has finally been chosen, by a poll, to have his wax replica displayed at the museum.

In the poll conducted by the museum, entertainment magazine Ikonz and BBC Asian Network, the brawny star beat nine other Indian stars including Abhishek Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit.

Though the official number of votes polled by each star weren’t disclosed, it is believed to have been a landslide victory for Salman. Abhishek Bachchan was reportedly a distant second.

Other celebs in contention were Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherji, Kajol among others. Salman statue will now give company to Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan as the only other Bollywood personalities at Maddame Tussads.

The PR Manager for Madame Tussauds, Ben Lowett said, “Over 10,000 fans and visitors voted in our poll, and we`re over the moon that Salman Khan is the winner. The Asian market is critical to our attraction and our association with Bollywood, particularly the launch of Shah Rukh Khan earlier this year, has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Asians, from both the UK and abroad, visiting and enjoying Madame Tussauds. We hope to build upon this exciting relationship with the unveiling of Salman.

The ‘shirtless wonder’, as he is also referred to, had earlier this month, refused to have a wax statue. But now he has also given his consent to sit for the Madame Tussauds sculptors, “as respect to his fans”.

Salman Khan is currently riding on a professional high. His movie ‘Partner’ is among one of the biggest hits of the year.

He has also recently signed a 13 crore deal for a movie with the production house Shri Ashtivinayak Films, which makes him the highest paid actor in Bollywood.
