Salman’ Khan’s Reality Check

Things are not going very smoothly for Salman Khan, professionally or personally. His last hit, Partner, took place around a year and a half ago. His personal life does not seem all that great with reports of how Katrina Kaif did not even attend his birthday party.

Even though beauties like Asin and Mallika Sherawat attended Salman’’s birthday bash held at his farmhouse, Katrina decided to stay away. Coming back to his professional life, all his releases this year, were duds to say the least. The actor has been demanding and getting big money so far.

But now it seems that he is being forced to do a reality check. His underproduction film Veer, which is being directed by Anil Sharma, is having difficulty getting buyers. It will be remembered that Salman has written the script for Veer. The actor is believed to be wanting to crack a deal with the distributors, one that will mutually benefit all parties concerned.

Veer is quite an ambitious project and its producers are demanding quite a hefty sum for it. Naturally in today market scenario, when things are so tight, it is just not feasible. And if one looks at Salman’s track record in the last year or so, not many distributors are keen to risk their money. Not that any of this seems to be having much of an effect on Salman.

He refuses to change himself and still shoots only when and where he wants to. A case in point is producer Boney Kapoor’s Pokhiri remake Wanted. Boney has been running around to secure dates from the temperamental star. Wanted is a film which would have been wrapped up much earlier, if Salman had allotted his dates properly. So guess, it is time for Salman to do a reality check and become more professional. Is that asking for too much?
