46-year-old decided he would rather perform live.

“Salman’s team had worked out the plan that his act would be recorded after everyone had left the venue,” says Anil Jha of Star Network, the broadcasters who will be airing the Big Star Entertainment Awards on New Year’s eve. “But after he walked the red carpet and spent some time, he sent his team to check if his performance could be turned into the concluding performance for the evening. We agreed.”

Salman’s act involved plenty of props including a huge guitar. Jha says, “It was a complicated setting and we didn’t want to mess it up. But we couldn’t say no to Salman. It didn’t disrupt the evening’s proceedings because we were supposed to end with the announcement of the top honours. Instead, we ended with Salman’s act, which had a countdown to bring in the New Year. When you watch it, it seems like a live event.”

Many top stars don’t perform for the audience present at the venue. TV channels and event companies make arrangements to either record it pre-event or shoot it later. Recently, Ajay Devgn, who made his award-show debut with a dance act, recorded his performance before the event. It was added at an appropriate juncture for the TV audience.

Not only were the bouncers keen on keeping away over-eager fans from meeting the superstar and his entourage, in their enthusiasm, they did not even allow some star players from other CCL teams near the poolside get-together.

Labelled “Bollywood only”, the party was hosted for his team and a few celebs. However, fans and some stars (who don’t have a Bollywood presence) were brusquely turned away by the superstar’s bouncers.

CCL sources of course rushed in with a rejoinder and said that there were actually two parties going on at the venue — one hosted by the Celebrity Cricket League for the star players and the other hosted by Sallu himself.

A Telugu actor who attended the party claims that the bouncers couldn’t differentiate between guests and fans and that Salman’s bodyguards “acted very smart”.

“Despite repeated requests, some people tried to barge into Salman’s private party but his five bouncers stopped them. This might have resulted in some mild commotion. Also, two parties at the same venue could have led to some confusion. It was strictly a private party hosted by Salman for the 25-odd members of his Mumbai Heroes team along with actresses like Genelia, Sameera Reddy, Kangana Ranuat and others. It was a dual celebration since it was also the birthday of his brother Sohail Khan,” says a source.

“For me it’s always been god, dad and Salman Khan. He (Salman) has been a driving force for me. I just want to thank him for his support. Thank you Salman bhai,” said 38-year-old Himesh, whose music in the actor’s “Bodyguard” was well-received by the audiences.

Himesh, who reportedly had a spat with Salman sometime back, minced no words while thanking the actor and his family for helping him at every stage of his decade-long career either a music director, singer or even as an actor.

“After this break of one-and-a-half years and with love and good wishes of Salman bhai, my first film “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya” was possible because of the Khan family and now my 101st film “Bodyguard” also is getting me awards. It’s all because of their love. In some way or the other Salman bhai has been the reason for my success,” said Himesh.

After his success as a composer-singer, Himesh took up acting in films like “Aap Ka Suroor”, “Karzzzz”, “Kajraare” and “Damadamm”. He is looking forward to more acting and music assignments.

“Now after this break I am all set to give music, and I will give music for a lot of films. I will produce quite a few films too and will also start with my acting spree. I have four films in hand.

“I’m creatively reloaded. I’m ready with eight to nine scripts, which I have compiled for production houses. As far as the music front is concerned, when I had come here at the age of 16, I came with 300 songs and today I am ready with 500 songs and have signed 250 artists for”it,” he added.

Himesh is also set for some international projects, both, as a composer and as an actor.

“An international album in collaboration with Lil Wayne and Edward Maya is also ready. I have formulated 15 songs for it and the album is called ‘The Edge’. DJ Edward Maya is doing my song and Roman White, who directs Justin Bieber’s videos is directing our album too. I am also doing an international film ‘A * Is Killed’,” said Himesh.

For 2012, his hands are full with films like “Namastey London 2″, “Dangerous Ishq”, “Khiladi 786″, “Shortcut Romeo” and “A New Love Ishtory”.

However, Papa Salim Khan has expressed his desire to see his eldest son entering matrimony at the earliest so that the family could grow even bigger.

Talking to an entertainment channel, senior Khan said, “Jodiyaan jannat se ban ke aati hain (marriages are made in heaven), I`m sure Salman will find someone soon. It`s high time he found himself a girl and settled down”.

This Khan parivaar of Bollywood is known for its cosmopolitanism and has been a cohesive unit through thick and thin. And this makes this family very special.

“I can`t wait for my family to expand. Sohail, Arbaaz and Alvira have already turned parents,” said Papa Khan.

Salman, we are sure Papa must be proud of your bada naam but he will be happier if you take the marital plunge soon!
Are we right people?

According to an insider, the show is allegedly pre-planned right from the beginning and the main conspirator is Salman Khan and the producers.

The source adds, “Mahek and Salman are close friends and Salman was the one, who got Mahek in the Bigg Boss house. He was the one who asked the channel to evict Mahek to prove that there is nothing between him and her.”

The source further explains, “Now the game will take a new turn, when Mahek will re-enter the house. This will be done in a more credible way – in fact a clear eye wash. This time the audiences will decide the wild card entry, three names- Lakshmi Tripathi, Mahek Chahal and Shonali Nagrani will be given to the audiences to vote. This voting will take place but the end winner will be Mahek Chahal.”

Despite being the daughter of yesteryear actor Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi was initially launched by Sallu in the industry. She was the leading lady of Salman starrer Dabangg. But it seems that Ms Sinha doesn’t rely on old Sallu anymore and has been trying hard to patch up with young Ranveer Singh.

It all started when Sonakshi boldly confessed her desire to date Ranveer in a chat show. In fact after Ranveer’s break up with Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi tried to get close to Ranveer. Though there were rumours about the couple dating each other but nothing is official yet.

But that isn’t the end of it since the rumoured love-birds have also signed the film Lootera together. After that, there were news about Ranveer was going to take his commitment up a notch by serenading Dev Anand’s love songs such as Khoya Khoya Chand, Tere Mere Sapne and Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechara to his alleged lady-love for Lootera.

So definitely these new confirm the fact that Sonakshi is absolutely Ranveer’s girl now.

This is in direct contrast to what his friend turned foe Shahrukh Khan had said at an awards ceremony. Shahrukh had said that if he didn’t receive awards, he feels like the audience hasn’t accepted his work.

Well, well….wonder if Salman was picking on Shahrukh by making such a statement!

The Bollywood stars turned up to celebrate a special occasion. According to Bollywood Mantra, Katrina showed up for Sohail Khan’s son’s birthday party and looked gorgeous in her “colorful outfit.” There was no word on whether she arrived solo, or with a date, but it was also noted that Salman Khan “was seen arriving at the bash.”

Katrina Kaif previously split up with Salman Khan, but it appears they are still on amicable terms. She noted in a past interview that Salman grew too angry or demanding over her relationships with other co-stars. So for now, it appears that the two can co-exist at the same place, and work together on films together. You never know, they could put differences aside and get back together for dating purposes in the future too!

The two feuding Khans came under the same roof at the birthday bash of Riteish Deskhmukh on Saturday night. Shahrukh Khan made an entry past mid-night and by that time Salman Khan was already in and enjoying.

According to eyewitnesses, while Salman Khan hung around with his brothers (Sohail and Arbaaz), director Shirish Kunder (who mocked Ra.One as a fizzled out Rs.150-crore firework) and Sajid Nadiadwala.

On the other hand, Shahrukh Khan took a corner and partied with his friends Mushtaq Sheikh, Arjun Rampal and Karan Johar.

In fact, we hear that this grouping turning into a show of force for both the Khans as to which camp was bigger. And there were some that kept flitting from one group to another. Thankfully, there was no awkward moment, nor any friction between the two camps.

Salman Khan, we hear, made an exit first. Shahrukh Khan continued to party for a while but then he too left.

The grass may be greener on the other side. But when the other side is Salman Khan’s territory, treading with caution is always advisable. And that’s probably the lesson that some teams of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) had to learn, when they reportedly gate crashed a party that the actor co-hosted with his brother Sohail Khan at a five-star hotel in Hyderabad, on Monday night.

A source close to the brothers who was with them informed Mumbai Mirror that the two, who were hosting a private party by the poolside with Sohail’s team Mumbai Heroes, got into a brawl with the other uninvited team members of the CCL.

The source explained, “The idea was to bring in Sohail’s birthday and so members from his team Mumbai Heroes were invited. Just when the party was getting started and Salman was in high spirits, other team players, who were at the official CCL party, gate crashed. Sallu’s party was rather happening. The drinks were flowing and the crowd was good, tempting the outsiders to join in the merriment.”

Salman, who is otherwise known for his generosity, however, was not too kicked about the intrusion. An eyewitness revealed that the other team players were denied entry, with the appointed bouncers doing their job rather well. “Some bouncers did not know who is who and pushed some of the team players away a bit too roughly. A notice that read: ‘ Only for Bollywood’ was quickly posted outside the party venue,” said the eyewitness.

Since their attempts to join Sallu failed, the other players were reportedly upset with the way the situation was handled. And they decided to have their own little party, on the other end of the pool, claimed the eyewitness.

However, Salman decided to put an end to the drama. “Sallu went over to the other side of the pool and apologised for turning them away. He also extended an official invite to the Mumbai Heroes party. But, some of the team players held their ground and refused to go back,” added the eyewitness.

Despite repeated attempts, Sohail and Salman remained unavailable for comment.
